Oh, dear Smokey Joe’s! It’s not the pepperoni pizza, Bud Lights or crowded dance floors that we miss the most, but the second home feels Joe gave us.

Wouldn’t you give up anything to have only one more night of 50 cent drinks? The Penn Wharton Club of Panama is pleased to invite all of our members to an exclusive Smokey Joe’s Beer Tasting night to be held on Tuesday, April 27^th from 7:30 – 9:00 PM via Zoom.

OUR OWN TASTING GUIDE: NOEL SANCHEZ

The tasting will be guided by the one and only Noel Sanchez, a national recognized beer connoisseur, who is currently the director of the National Panamanian Association of Craft Beer (“Asociación Cervecera Artesanal de Panamá”). Noel is a Certified Judge from the BJCP and a Beer Specialist with a degree from the University of Alicante, Spain. He is the first Panamanian to achieve the prestigious title of Certified Cicerone®️, having trained for it in Chicago, Illinois and receiving it in San Francisco, California. During his career, he has been invited as a judge to important beer competitions in the United States, Mexico, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Chile, Brazil, Germany and of course Panama. Noel is a founding partner of Buenas Pintas, promoters of beer culture in Panama. He is the founder of Nueva Orden, a project in alliance with Casa Bruja Brewing Co. He is also the co-founder of the International Indie Beer Cup in alliance with Micro Brew Fest and participates as a teacher in several beer education institutes in Latin America.
